Search Filters

Purpose

Narrow search results by item type, category, file type, size, people, and dates.

Prerequisites

  • You are signed in to EisenVault One.

Before You Begin

Search filters now live in the Advanced Search panel, which opens from the header search bar on any page. You no longer need to run a keyword search first. The panel offers these filters:

Filter What it does
Item type Search Files, Folders, or Both.
Document Category Limit results to one category.
File type Limit results to one file type. Optional.
Size Pick a size range, or choose Custom for your own limits in bytes, KB, or MB.
Author/Creator Match items created by a selected user.
Editor Match items last edited by a selected user.
Created Limit by creation date.
Modified Limit by last-modified date.

Apply Search Filters

  1. Click the magnifier-with-plus icon in the header search bar to open Advanced Search.
  2. Set the filters you need.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Review the updated results.
  5. Optional: click Clear to reset every filter.

Expected Result

  • Only items that match both your keyword (if any) and the applied filters appear in the results.
  • Active filters are included when you save the search. See Save a Search.
