Files & Folders
Purpose
Use Files & Folders to browse departments, open folders, find documents, and perform everyday content actions such as bookmarking, renaming, copying, moving, deleting, and restoring items.
What You Can Do
The Files & Folders area is the main Explorer view in EisenVault One. From this section you can:
- Navigate through departments, folders, and documents.
- Create folders to organize content.
- Change how many items are visible in the document library.
- Sort the document library view.
- Bookmark files and folders that you use often.
- Rename, copy, move, and delete files or folders when you have permission.
- Restore deleted content from trash when recovery is allowed.
Before You Begin
The actions available to you depend on your permissions. If an action is missing from an item's options menu, you may not have permission to perform that action, or the item may be restricted by your organization's configuration.
Some actions affect only the selected file or folder. Others, such as deleting or moving a folder, may affect the folder's child content. Review the selected item and destination before confirming any change.
Screenshots in the task pages below were captured from the id-cards department on the staging environment using the scratch folder docs-files-folders-demo-20260606 and the uploaded file The First Book of Moses.pdf (later renamed to Genesis-Demo.pdf for rename and delete examples).
